Charity Overview
For 100 years, Jo'burg Child Welfare has worked to protect and preserve the rights of children who have been abused, abandoned neglected and orphaned.
Our services and projects include a day care centre that assists youth and gogo-headed households and orphaned and vulnerable children, a children’s home for abused, abandoned and neglected children, an adoption home, foster-care supervision, a life-skills centre helping destitute mothers and girls on the street develop employment skills, child protection services and statutory services for children who have been neglected, orphaned, abused or made vulnerable by HIV or AIDS, as well as an active advocacy programme through which we lobby for children’s rights within the Government.
In the last financial year Jo'burg Child Welfare cared for over 42 000 children, their families and communities.
