Who are we?
The Acorn Foundation works from a single, simple premise – Making it easy to do good.
Using this principle as a foundation Acorn was established by founding member GloCell in late 2011.
Over the next few years we have embarked on numerous projects with some of South Africa’s largest corporates to initiate projects and create a product base that is both viable and sustainable and make a lasting and tangible difference to our beneficiaries. With this ethos in mind, Acorn will tirelessly seek to raise funds through exciting and innovative campaigns.
Having taken care of all the due diligence, identified individuals and communities in need, and implemented a channel to ensure funds get to where they need to go, we have taken all the hard work out of allocating your CSI spend to a cause where it will do the most good.
Coupled to this, enshrined in our ethos is total transparency. At Acorn Foundation we aim to apply the highest standard of corporate governance, and it is in this light that we strive towards achieving a higher industry norm by maintaining a 10% to 20% administration cost to income ratio.
What do we do?
All our projects and initiatives have the common thread - sustainability. All our projects are sustainable and, in conjunction with our beneficiaries, we aim at instilling a lasting and tangible difference. With this ethos in mind, Acorn will constantly and relentlessly seek to raise funds through exciting and different campaigns.
We can't do this alone, and that is why we believe in partnering with business in South Africa and institutions, so that we can have a greater impact on our chosen needy communities.
How do we do it?
It is not our intention to approach anyone with cap in hand. Our goal is to partner with business in South Africa and create practical, sustainable solutions to fit their CSI budget, corporate philosophy, and align with the overall mission and objectives of the company. Each solution will be tailor-made to maximise your spend.
We wish to align ourselves on the precept of that we can add value to any company by offering them marketing opportunities via our national campaigns, events, media partners, networking opportunities and social media platforms to name but a few. There are also long term branding and co-branding opportunities via the plethora of products we have on offer and we are registered with all the relevant departments and authorities, which enable us to allocate BBBEE points.
